As of May 11th, ERC is operating at full capacity after our halt in production March 16th due to the COVID-19 crisis. We are happy to be serving clients again!
We endured a difficult several weeks. Our crews worked from home training, earning certifications and enhancing their technical skills. Our administrative staff continued to work with client intake, accounting, fundraising, operations and leadership duties. Under the direction of our CEO Howard Brooks, Charlie Sanchez (Director of Denver and San Luis Valley offices), Don Walker (Director of Loveland office), and our vibrant Board of Directors, our non-profit weatherization company weathered a unique storm.
Working closely with the Colorado Energy Office, our primary funder, we have developed impactful protocols to ensure the safety of our clients and employees. Our staff of 100 will serve around 2,000 homes this year. It is our duty to provide the best protection for all involved.
Our work is more important now than ever. These energy-efficiency upgrades are free to income-qualifying families. We install furnaces, hot water heaters, insulation, refrigerators and more. The measures reduce household utility bills so they can afford other life essentials such as food and medication. Last year we collectively saved clients over $300,000. Since the work is permanent, this equates to $3 million over a ten year period.
Although uncertainties await due to the COVID-19 crisis, we are committed to serving families in need as we continue to cover 27 counties in Colorado. ERC exists to provide relief for neighbors suffering from job loss and personal financial strain and we will continue this effort for years to come.
Thank you to our funders from the Colorado Energy Office, Colorado Springs Utilities, Energy Outreach Colorado, Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships, Xcel Energy, Pikes Peak United Way, Next Fifty Initiative, Indy Give! Campaign, Colorado Department of Health and Environment and many others.
A special thanks to YOU, our committed supporters! Your donations, cards and well-wishes keep us moving forward. This effort provides the energy for Energy Resource Center.
