The Energy Resource Center offers free energy efficiency evaluations and upgrades to income-qualified residents of El Paso, Teller, Fremont, Elbert, Douglas, Kit Carson, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Alamosa, Conejos, Costilla, Mineral, Saguache, Rio Grande, Denver, Jefferson, Gilpin, Larimer, Weld, Boulder, and Broomfield counties. We operate the program in conjunction with Colorado Springs UtilitiesExcel EnergyColorado Energy Office (CEO) and other area utility companies and partners.

Who Qualifies?

If you qualify for the Low-income Energy Assistance Program – LEAP – or Supplemental Security Income, you automatically qualify for free assistance from The Energy Resource Center. Other automatic qualifiers include: SNAP, TANF, AND, or OAP.

ERC can weatherize your home for FREE if you receive LEAP, SNAP, TANF, AND, OAP or SSI.

Qualifying by income

If you do not receive aid from any of the above programs, you could still qualify for free assistance if your household income is 200 percent or less of the federal poverty level. Refer to the chart below to see if you qualify.
